Staff spotlight series: Angela Wisdom
Continuing our Staff Spotlight Series, we shine a light on the people behind Leighton O’Brien who make the company tick. We are pleased to announce this staff spotlight series is on Angela Wisdom!
Describe what you do and the best part of your job?
I work with customers in our industry to provide solutions that enable them to run their sites more efficiently, enhance the customer experience and increase profitability and safety.
What key thing have you learnt from working at LOB?
I’ve learned fuel is very dirty and is not tested nor cleaned near enough.
To what do you attribute the company’s success?
The people! It starts with Leighton and O’Brien but it goes all the way through every individual that calls themselves an LOB’er. They wake up with a common war cry – to serve the customer and that’s just what happens. A+ service!
What is on your wish list for the next 10 years?
To automate all the manual mundane tasks that occur at sites and bring all that data to one pivotal place so our customers can make quick decisions that impact their business and customers positively.
What is something people don’t know about you?
I take being in a leadership role very seriously. I’m aware that decisions I make affect people’s lives and families. I’m constantly checking myself to make sure I’m using the gift of leadership in the most positive way possible. I want to be like leaders I’ve had in my past, truly life changing and inspiring.
If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose and why?
I would trade places with my daughter. She is in her mid-20’s a young mother and a nursing student. She often feels like she’s not enough (like most of us do from time to time). I would like to show her from my eyes how amazing I think she is and understand from her point of view how she feels.
What advice would you give to your teenage self?
SLOW DOWN! Take a deep breath, life is going to fly by and there is no need to rush. Enjoy every minute, every memory (good and bad) and just know that it’s all going to work out perfectly.
